Graduate Collection - Bachelor of Design with First Class Honours

Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) is an eating disorder that results from an intense fear of eating everyday foods that are viewed as unsafe by the subconscious. It affects as many as 1 in 20 children.


This collection is the manifestation of daily life living with this disorder.

An exploration into the customisation of clothing. 

The three garments in this project were each hand-painted with acrylic paint. The white cotton bases of the skirt and t-shirt were painted with black to exaggerate their silhouettes and details while the plastic overcoat was painted with the three primary colours in a more freeform style.

Awarded Highly Commended at the Hokonui Fashion Design Awards 2019

A representation of how costuming can facilitate a transformation which both conceals and reveals elements of our identity in order to suit our changing environments. This garment consists of two halves which morph and change into one another. 

Massey University koha project in collaboration with Te Papa's Costume Department.

For this design studio project, the brief challenged us to reinterpret an historical garment from the archives of Te Papa Tongarewa's fashion department. The dress selected was a green day dress from 1855 which had two interchangeable bodices.
