I am a Wellington-based designer with a passion for costuming the body. My favourite aspect of the design process is finding solutions for challenging patternmaking and construction problems. I develop all of my patterns using a combination of digital CAD programs and draping techniques.
I have long been inspired by my grandmother’s life working in the tailoring and bridal industries, and have been sewing for as long as I can remember. Another point of inspiration is a passion for education, both in expanding my own skillsets and sharing my knowledge with others.
My work is largely driven by my belief in the transformative power that clothing possesses; both in how I am able to manipulate the way the wearer is feeling through their dress, and in my garment’s abilities to grow and change forms.
